2nd Twenty20 International, Mount Maunganui

New Zealand v Bangladesh, 2016-17

Second Twenty20 international At Mount Maunganui, January 6, 2017. New Zealand won by 47 runs. New Zealand 195-7 (20 overs) (C. Munro 101, T. C. Bruce 59*; Rubel Hossain 3-37); ‡Bangladesh 148 (18.1 overs) (Sabbir Rahman 48, Soumya Sarkar 39; I. S. Sodhi 3-36). MoM: C. Munro.
Colin Munro became the third New Zealander, after Brendon McCullum and Guptill, to score a T20 international century. He clonked seven sixes in his 54-ball knock, including three in an over from Mahmudullah costing 28, and put on 123 with Tom Bruce (59* off 39). Bangladesh's own fourth-wicket pair, Soumya Sarkar and Sabbir Rahman, managed 68 off 40, but the pressure was too much. Luke Ronchi's day started with a diamond duck, and his misfortune continued when he suffered a groin injury in the eighth over. It meant Bruce, who had last kept seriously at school, was given the gloves in his second international. In the 19th over, he took the catch that finished the match.
