At Indore, October 6, Australia won by six wickets. A capacity crowd at the Nehru Stadium watched India, thanks chiefly to an immaculate 102 by Shastri, reach their highest total of the series. But Phillips, Smith, Yallop, Ritchie and Wessels were in such command that they made light of the required scoring-rate of 6 runs an over and Australia won with 3.5 overs to spare.
