Second One-day International

†PAKISTAN v NEW ZEALAND 1984-85

At Faisalabad, November 23. Pakistan won by 5 runs. In a rain-ruined game, reduced to twenty overs to each side, Pakistan were again asked to bat. Thanks to Salim Malik's 41 and a belligerent 39 not out from Manzoor Elahi they managed to set New Zealand a target of more than 7 runs an over. But Smith and Stirling were run out at vital stages and they fell 5 runs short.

Man of the Match: Salim Malik.
