Fourth One-day International

†PAKISTAN v NEW ZEALAND 1984-85

At Multan, December 7. Pakistan won by one wicket. The match was delayed for half an hour because of an overcrowded stadium and a minor clash between spectators and groundstaff. Consequently the overs were reduced to 35 per side, and New Zealand came near to levelling the one-day series. Chasing a target of 214, Pakistan needed 8 to win in the last over with their last pair at the wicket, and had the match ended with the scores level victory would have gone to New Zealand for having lost fewer wickets. However, off the last ball Mohsin Kamal and Tauseef snatched a single as the visitors appealed for a run-out.

Man of the Match: Zaheer Abbas.
