PAKISTAN v SOUTH AFRICA

At Rawalpindi, October 20. Pakistan won by 39 runs. Toss: South Africa.

Ijaz Ahmed answered criticism of his recall to the national team with a run-a-ball century - he hit 13 fours and a six and his last 60 runs took only 39 deliveries. With his captain and brother-in-law, Salim Malik, he added 125 in 25 overs. South Africa always struggled, with Wessels scoring 19 from as many overs, though Cronje reached his third half-century in four games before being run out. Cullinan and Rhodes were also run out, though Rhodes could plead grogginess; he had batted on for 20 minutes after ducking into a full toss from Aqib Javed.

Man of the Match: Ijaz Ahmed.
