First Test Match

At Dunedin, February 3, 4, 5, 6, 7. Abandoned. Heavy sweeping rain brought Dunedin's summer to an abrupt halt and caused the match to be called off on the third day, only the fourth Test match in which a ball had not been bowled. The captains had not tossed, and the final teams had still to announced from the following squads of twelve.
