DMC Trophy 1999-2000: Second One-Day International

Pakistan v West Indies 1999-2000

At Toronto, September 18. Pakistan won by 42 runs. Toss: Pakistan.

Pakistan made sure of the series despite a doubtful start. Choosing to bat, they faced an unlikely opening bowler in off-spinner Gayle, who removed Saeed Anwar in the fifth over, and after 22 overs they were 68 for four. Yousuf Youhana and Abdur Razzaq regrouped and they put on 149 together. Razzaq was run out in the final over, trying to help his colleague to his century, which Youhana reached just afterwards; he finished with 104 from 114 balls, having hit 13 fours. His second fifty took only 25 balls as the last ten overs cost 100 runs. In reply, Campbell and his latest opening partner, Chanderpaul, fell cheaply. Though Lara hit 26 in 21 balls, only Hinds stood firm for long. When Wasim Akram bowled him in the 45th over, it was soon over.

Man of the Match: Yousuf Youhana.
