1995

The 132nd edition included coverage of another England disaster in the West Indies - Mike Atherton's young side lost the series 3-1, which included being bowled out for 46 in Trinidad. At home England beat New Zealand but only drew with South Africa, who were making their first tour of England for 29 years. They roared back with a huge victory at lord's, but were undone at The Oval by Devon Malcolm, whose 9 for 57 ensured him a place as one of the Five Cricketers of the Year, alongside Tim Munton, Steve Rhodes, Kepler Wessels ... and Brian Lara, whose 375 and 501 not out, both covered in this edition, broke the records for the highest Test and first-class scores.
