Deccan Chargers v Delhi Daredevils

Indian Premier League, 2008-09

Nagraj Gollapudi

At Centurion, April 30, 2009. Delhi Daredevils won by six wickets. Toss: Delhi Daredevils. Deccan Chargers 148-9 (20 overs) (D. R. Smith 48); Delhi Daredevils 150-4 (18.4 overs) (T. M. Dilshan 52*, K. D. Karthik 41). Delhi Daredevils 2 pts. Man of the Match: D. P. Nannes.

Delhi left out the off-form V. V. S. Laxman, while Glenn McGrath spun yarns in the dugout as his replacement, Dirk Nannes, continued his sparkling form, dispatching the dangerous pair of Gilchrist and Gibbs early on to end the Chargers' unbeaten run after four straight victories. There were more changes of fortune to come, though none as dramatic as Fidel Edwards's loss of control in what became the final over of the match - Dilshan hit 4426 from the balls he could reach among a wide, a no-ball and a bouncer.
