At Durban, May 5, 2009 (floodlit). Delhi Daredevils won by nine wickets. Toss: Kolkata Knight Riders. Kolkata Knight Riders 154-3 (20 overs) (M. N. van Wyk 74, B. B. McCullum 35, M. C. Henriques 30*); Delhi Daredevils 157-1 (19 overs) (G. Gambhir 71*, D. A. Warner 36, T. M. Dilshan 42*). Delhi Daredevils 2 pts. Man of the Match: G. Gambhir.

Morne van Wyk, pushed up to open after Chris Gayle left to captain West Indies in the Tests in England, came up with a superb 48-ball innings, studded with 11 fours, to take his side to a handy total. But Delhi, anchored by Gambhir, had little difficulty knocking off the runs, helped by some shoddy out-fielding.
