Australia benefitted from winning the toss and not having to get through Hayley Matthews made life a lot easier. They took 3 for 5 in the first seven overs and West Indies never recovered. They were bowled out for just 83. Without Aaliyah Alleyne's 35 it could have been even uglier. Kim Garth was the pick of the bowlers taking 3 for 8. Australia's chase was not a breeze as West Indies' new ball bowlers tested Healy and Litchfield. But they bided their time before Healy cut loose. Perry finished the job. Australia take a 1-0 lead as both sides head to Melbourne where conditions will likely be far friendlier for batting.
