Ryan Buckley displayed skill and stamina on a memorable debut against Surrey on a turning pitch at The Oval in 2013. After claiming Vikram Solanki as his maiden first-class wicket in the morning session, Buckley bowled throughout the afternoon without success, not helped by dropping a return chance from Steve Davies before taking four post-tea wickets en route to figures of 30.2-8-86-5. If he imagined that professional cricket was a doddle, however, he found opportunities hard to come by and was released without making a further impact.
