Toss Pakistan won the toss and chose to field first against West Indies
Pakistan have won the toss and opted to bowl first. Under overcast skies in Trinidad, Mohammad Rizwan acknowledged the uncertainty around the weather induced his side into letting the hosts bat first. It rained heavily overnight, with a chance of further interruptions during the game.
Babar Azam is a part of the side, and bats at number three, with Abdullah Shafique and Saim Ayub opening. Hasan Nawaz has earned his ODI debut and is slotted to bat in the middle order. They have opted for two specialist pace bowlers - in Shaheen Afridi and Naseem Shah - with Sufiyan Muqeem being the specialist spinner. Faheem Ashraf, Salman Agha and Saim Ayub are likely to bowl the rest of the overs between them to complete Pakistan's quota.
West Indies skipper Shai Hope said he would have bowled first too, on a ground the hosts are not much more familiar with, compared to the visitors. West Indies have gone with four fast bowlers, with Gudakesh Motie and Roston Chase their spin options.
Just one ODI has been played at the Brian Lara Stadium in Tarouba. The weather and the surface add extra layers of uncertainty.
