Kasiam Farid, who was born in Glasgow, has captained Scotland at U13, U15 and U17 levels so it should surprise no one that he has been chosen as captain of the Scottish squad for the 2006 Under-19 World Cup.
Farid will bat at number 3 for the Scottish team and will be hoping that his
experience of the 2003/4 U19 World Cup will place him in good stead for this
year's tournament. Farid lists his sporting heroes as Brian Lara and Jonty
Rhodes and will be looking for assured performances after a disappointing
campaign in the 2003/4 competition when he averaged only 18 with the bat.
