Sarfaraz slams 157, Mumbai 444; Padikkal, Gaikwad hit tons

Karnataka and Madhya Pradesh are unbeaten after four games, while Jharkhand, who beat TN, are a close third. Kerala are just about in contention.

UP are runaway leaders with four wins; Vidarbha and Bengal in a close tussle for the second spot. Bengal have done their NRR no harm at all with an incredible win over J&k, who were bowled out for just 63.

Mumbai are four in four, and are contenders to be the first qualifier from this pool. Punjab and Goa are tussling for the second spot, with three wins in four games. By ensuring they've gotten within a 100 runs of Mumbai's 444, Goa haven't damaged their NRR as much.

The group with the toughest competition as there are three contenders - Delhi, Odisha and Haryana - tussling for two spots having racked up three wins in four matches.

At 287 for 7 in the 45th over, Kerala's hopes of remaining in knockouts contention looked slim. But from 57 off 31, the eighth-wicket pair of Eden Apple Tom and Ankit Sharma have batted out of their skins to scale down Rajasthan's 343 for 7.

Ankit made 27, Apple Tom remains 40 not out off 18 balls, this included a crucial six in the final over with Kerala needing 10 off four balls.

Kerala now have two wins in four games; Rajasthan, meanwhile, are scraping the bottom of group A as this is their fourth straight defeat.

Half-centuries from Naman Dhir and Anmolpreet Singh help Punjab cruise home to victory against Himachal.

After scores of 82 and 57 against UP and Bengal, Krunal promoted himself to No. 3 and made it count with an unbeaten 109 off 63 balls, adding to centuries from openers Nitya Pandya and Amit Passi. It was a dominant display from the top order, with the top three all reaching three figures as Baroda piled up a formidable 417 for 4.

Hyderabad, though, have made a brisk start to the chase, racing to 147 for 2 in 18 overs and keeping themselves in the contest for now.

The seam-bowling allrounder picks up four wickets to set up a superb win. Vidarbha have scaled down Chandigarh's 113 with eight wickets in hand. This is Vidarbha's third win in four games.

Ruturaj Gaikwad began December by registering his maiden ODI hundred for India, batting at No. 4. He now closes the year with another statement knock - a superb 124 off 113 balls against Uttarakhand - as Maharashtra have staged a strong recovery from 100 for 4 in the 24th over to post 331. Gaikwad’s knock was studded with 12 fours and three sixes.

The turning point came in a 94-run stand with Ramakrishna Ghosh, whose brisk 47 off 31 balls provided the perfect counterpunch and lifted the innings into top gear. Ghosh has enjoyed a remarkable tournament: just two days ago he claimed a seven-wicket haul, and here he was again, making his presence felt with a timely cameo.

Sarfaraz finishes with a mammoth 157; Hardik Tamore makes quick fire 28-ball 53, while Shardul and Kotian make 27 and 23 respectively. Goa have a chase-and-a-half.

Karnataka, meanwhile, have slammed 363 against Puducherry, courtesy centuries from Mayank and Padikkal, while Karun slams an unbeaten 62 off 34 balls.

Bengal seal their small chase of 64 in just 9.3 overs for the loss of Abhimanyu Easwaran. They've now won three matches out of four. J&K meanwhile have lost their second game in four; more importantly, their net run rate has taken a severe beating.

After hitting a half-century in his previous innings, Sarfaraz Khan gets to his century off just 56 balls as Mumbai pile on the runs against Goa. The bedrock of Mumbai's innings was Sarfaraz's 93-run stand with younger brother Musheer (who made 60). After his dismissal, Sarfaraz has cut loose, and he's now one hit away from 150. At 309 for 5 in the 40th over, Mumbai are looking good to put up 400 plus.

Devdutt Padikkal has slammed his third century in four matches.

Mayank Agarwal, meanwhile, has his first this season.

Earlier this year, an injury to Padikkal paved way for Mayank's belated entry into the IPL. And he contributed key cameos in RCB's run to the title.

Padikkal is now fully fit, which has meant Mayank wasn't retained. But that hasn't affected the team dynamics, as the pair continue to play stellar roles for the team.

Karnataka 228/0 in the 38th over, as Puducherry are being run ragged.

After Shami and Akash Deep, it's Mukesh Kumar's turn to get into the thick of things. He has figures of 6-0-16-4 in his first spell as J&K are now 62 for 9 in 20 overs.

Meanwhile, unbeaten Karnataka have started well against Uttarakhand, with openers Mayank Agarwal and Devdutt Padikkal in a century stand as they consolidate slowly. Padikkal's rich vein of form continues. After scores of 22, 124 and 147, he's now 66*. Mayank is on 61; Karnataka 131/0 in the 26th.

Pukhraj Mann is coming into this game on the back of three rich knocks: 110, 126 and 48. And now, up against Punjab, his former team, Mann has to revive a floundering innings as Himachal have reduced them to 22 for 4 in the ninth over.

Mohammed Shami continues to be among the wickets. Having already picked up six wickets in three matches, he's added two more into his bag in his first spell as J&k are in real trouble at 7 for 3 in the 7th over. At the other end, Shami has been backed up superbly by Akash Deep.

J&k tried to promote M Ashwin up to No. 3 in a bid to lengthen their batting, but he's been dismissed for a six-ball duck. Onus on Paras Dogra and Shubham Khajuria to drive this innings forward now.

This is a massively important clash for both teams, who have two wins in three matches.
