A steady right-handed opening batsman and brilliant outfielder, Reggie Northway played infrequently for Somerset between 1929 and 1933, making seventeen appearances. Northamptonshire signed him up for the 1936 season and he made another 17 appearances for them that year. Tragically, he was killed on the evening of Northamptonshire's last championship game of the season when the car he was driving left the road, and he was thrown into a ditch.
