So, that's it then. South Africa have ground out the victory here, and with it they take the series. AB de Villiers runs over to Prince, gives him a hug and South Africa start the celebrations. It's been a closely fought match, series and it was fitting that even today was a big test for both sides, but Kallis and Prince proved the difference, doing exceptionally well with their 117-run partnership that made sure of the win. That's your lot, your last day of Test cricket for a good three months as attentions now turn to the World Cup.

Jacques Kallis has been named the Man of the Series. "It is pleasing," he confirmed.

Thanks for joining me (Jenny), Gnasher McGlashan, Siddhartha V and Andrew the Miller throughout this game, and we hope you've enjoyed the series.

oh no! Akmal's had a(nother) shocker there. Prince got a big inside edge and there was a regulation catch, low to his right, which slips out of his gloves while the players are busy celebrating. It's unlikely to have made a huge difference, in truth, but it won't have done Akmal's confidence, nor his reputation, any good

bowled him neck and crop, a beauty but his job is more than done. He's gone for 51, and shared in an absolutely crucial 117-run partnership and he leaves to a standing ovation
