Low full-toss on the leg stump channel, charges down the track and follows the line of the ball, Kapp only managed to glance it away to the deep midwicket region for a single.

Player of the Match, Beth Mooney: "It got a bit tight in the end. The oval did really well to get it that close. Obviously, Paige [Scholfield] at the end with that six certainly made me work hard for that win as a skipper. But just happy to hit something out in the middle and get a few points. [Top order batting] It's one game of short-form cricket. It's really hard to judge a team and some players in one innings. You can't really get too high or too low in this format. It can change pretty quickly. But I was really pleased that Bryce came out and hit the ball like she did. She's an excellent player and can match it with the best in the world. So to see a take on Kapp like that was awesome. And that can happen in short form. You sort of fall away a bit, lose a few wickets, and the game can get quite big on you. So I was just happy that we hung in there today and got a defendable total. It's sometimes difficult when you don't get too much of the strike, but that's just the nature of this format. You can get stuck at the end. I thought they bowled well up front; the ball was doing enough to make you second-guess yourself, but when I'm at my best, I'm not really thinking about it and hopefully can hit some out of the middle, and there are a few more in me for the rest of the tournament. I've seen Meg [Lanning] win a lot of games chasing totals like that. So there's always a little bit of fear in you when she's out there hitting the ball like that. She's been an amazing player for a number of years and, unfortunately, doesn't get to play on the same team as her own franchise cricket. But as a fan of the game, it's really nice to see her out there with a smile on her face and hitting the ball like she is. But glad we got that catch at the end."
1:40 pm The Oval Invincibles started their chase strong and looked like they would easily win, but things got very tense at the end! It was a thrilling match! The Invincibles began with a bang, hitting four boundaries in the first two sets. Both opening batters were sharp, hitting loose balls for boundaries and rotating the strike well. Lauren Winfield-Hill made 33 runs off 25 balls before being bowled out by a great delivery from Kerr. Meg Lanning continued her excellent form, scoring 56 runs off 42 balls. However, the Originals' bowlers stayed calm in the final overs, keeping their team in the game right to the very last ball. Bryce, Kerr, and Ecclestone each took one wicket.
Manchester Originals won by 2 runs
4 runs needed from the last delivery.
Full and straight outside off, driven to the left of extra cover for a single
Has she got enough? Yes, she has! Full and overpitched ball in the slot on the pads, gets down on one knee and nails the slog sweep shot, the ball just had enough elevation to clear the ropes. Amelia Kerr got a hand to it while tracking back, but went over the ropes and could not collect it cleanly to toss it inside!
Pace off delivery pitching wide outside off, moves away from the wicket to swing it away over the covers, swing and a miss!
pace off delivery on the stumps, forces it away to wideish deep backward square leg region for a couple of runs
13 runs needed from the last set. Deandra Dottin in.
This time Lanning has to depart! Full and straight ball around the off stump line, did not time it well enough to clear the fences, plays it inside-out with the toe end of the bat and Monaghan completes the catch while running forward
It's gone through her hands! A costly error! Full and overpitched ball on the pads, gets down on one knee and plays the slog sweep, finds Fi Morris near the ropes at the deep backward square leg area. Oh dear! She dropped it, and the ball rolled towards the ropes!
long off comes in, extra cover goes out
Half-volley ball on middle-leg, heaves it away to straight of long on and rotates the strike
Fuller length ball outside off, throws her bat at it but this time finds the backward point fielder
Every run counts now! Starts her set with a fuller length ball wide outside off, opens the face of the bat and bludgeons it hard through the covers for a boundary!
Finishes her set with a pinpoint accurate yorker on the stumps. Lannging tries to work it away to the off-side, struck the toe end of the bat, and onto the pitch.
Juicy full-toss and dispatched over mid-on! Brings up her fifty in style, full-toss ball and heaves it away over the in-field
Fuller length ball around the off stump line, blasted it straight over the bowler's head to long off
Full and straight ball on the leg stump line moves across early and tries to whip it away to the on-side, fails to connect and hits the side of the front pad. An enthusiastic appeal from Ecclestone was turned down by the umpire. After a brief chat with the wicketkeeper, the Originals decide to send it upstairs. Ultra Edge confirmed no bat involved. The ball is pitching just outside the line, review lost.
Quicker ball fired in at the leg stump line, chips it straight in the air over the bowler's head
nailed the paddle sweep! Full and overpitched delivery, right in the zone of Kapp, follows the line of the ball, creates the angle and places it beautifully wide of the sweeper fielder
flighted length ball outside off, struck it straight back to the bowler, Kerr fumbles and fails to collect it
short of a length ball drags it down to wide of deep midwicket
Generously flighted slot delivery outside off, dances down the track and lofted it away over the covers, does not have enough legs to reach the ropes
Tossed up length ball outside off, taps it gently to short third
Kerr to bowl out
