full on the legs, clipped behind square and placed well enough to come back for the second to end the match.
Thunder vs Scorchers, 46th Match at Perth, BBL, Jan 20 2020 - Ball by Ball Commentary
Scorchers won by 8 wickets (with 27 balls remaining)
That's it from me tonight. Hope you've enjoyed the coverage once again. I'm Peter Della Penna, take care!
Man of the Match is Liam Livingstone: "I think Josh deserves this. We've had a couple of partnerships. He's been unbelievable to bat with and is a special talent. Once he scores runs like that, you're off and away. I've been working on trying to get underneath the ball instead of hitting it to the long boundaries and not be a one-man band, leg-side slogging. Josh takes a lot of pressure off of me."
10:05 pm Absolute shellacking handed out by the Scorchers on the Thunder to win this with 4.3 overs to spare and could've been even more lopsided had Hales been given out first ball opening the match. His half-century only gave a platform for Inglis and Livingstone to assert their dominance in the chase.
full on off, pushed for a sharp run to mid-off.
length ball on off, tries to end the match with a six but instead picks out deep midwicket. Got the elevation but not the distance. Caught five yards inside the rope.
full on off, pushed along the ground through square leg.
full and wide on fifth stump, slices a drive and beats the point sweeper.
good length ball angled across fifth stump at 108 kph, out in front of a drive fooled by a slower ball.
good length ball on off, tapped to mid-on.
full on off, defended to Sams.
good length ball on the stumps, clipped behind square.
slower ball goes well down leg.
Remios: "What a twist! Doggett ends up giving the ball a hug to take the catch, good to see his teammates getting around him as well. Wholesome."
good length ball on off, tip and run into midwicket to keep the strike.
short on the stumps, hammers this pull through the gap between deep square leg and deep midwicket.
Richard: "Doggett fielding legend!!!"
short outside off, goes to pull, beaten.
full on the legs, clipped behind square.
Doggett has finally held onto one! This one fools Inglis and it comes off a top edge into short midwicket, Doggett charges right, dives on the ring and holds on. 9/10 on difficulty because he didn't have much time to cover the ground, but it was coming at a gentle pace and he is able to get hands underneath it. Doggett gets hugs and cuddles from everyone on the Thunder.
short on the stumps, pulled behind square.
Eric: "Not just Dogget....alll bowlers from ST need hugs"
short outside off, toe drags a pull wide of mid-on.
wide yorker outside off with Livingstone backing away from leg, left alone. Well inside the guidelines.
yorker down leg, called wide despite Livingstone going all the way across his stumps.
good length on fifth stump, goes across to flick to deep square.
Naveed: "Can't Doggett be "injured" for these last couple of overs? :(" The Rodney Dangerfield 'Caddyshack' strategy I see...
