Two wristspinners, Alistair Gray and the Australian Brad Hogg, sent Impi crashing to their seventh consecutive defeat, by 35 runs to Cape Cobras in Benoni. South Africa's newest franchise is still winless in the competition. Chasing 166, Impi's openers added 46 in 7.2 overs before Gray had the England batsman Luke Wright stumped. He then trapped Netherlands' Ryan ten Doeschate lbw next ball. Impi limped through the rest of the innings but there was still the faintest hope when they needed 56 off 23 balls. Hogg, however, took three wickets in an over for one run, dismissing the captain Paul Collingwood, Qaasim Adams and Quinton Friend. Impi finished on 130 for 7. Cobras had posted 165 for 5 thanks to Owais Shah, who made an unbeaten 60 off 40 balls, and Stiaan van Zyl, who scored 42.
Makhaya Ntini wrecked Dolphins, leaving his team with a facile run chase, which the Warriors openers completed in 14.3 overs in Durban. Ntini bowled economically and struck early, reducing Dolphins to 21 for 2 in 5.2 overs. He returned later to dismiss the top scorer Vaugh van Jaarsveld (22) and finish with 3 for 15. Nicky Boje and Rusty Theron were extremely restrictive as well, and Andrew Birch took 2 for 20 as Dolphins were kept to 100 for 8 in 20 overs. Chasing a small target, JJ Smuts made 43 and Ashwell Prince 52 as Warriors completed a ten-wicket victory.
Dirk Nannes and Chris Morris took three wickets apiece for Lions, dismissing Titans for 121 and setting up a seven-wicket victory in Centurion. Titans' struggled to score against the new ball and were reduced to 28 for 4 in 7.3 overs. There was no recovery either and wickets fell at regular intervals. Nannes and Morris returned to pick up another wicket each, and Ethan O'Reilly and Dwaine Pretorius also took two apiece to skittle Titans in 19.1 overs. Lions lost Gulam Bodi early in the chase but Quinton de Kock scored an unbeaten 72 off 36 balls, hitting seven fours and five sixes, to lead his team to victory in 12.3 overs.
