Chandan Madan and Amitoze Singh put up a 44-run partnership for the fifth wicket to help steady the innings.
Once Madan was dismissed, Gurinder Singh and Amitoze put up a further 49 runs, to leave Punjab at 113 for 6. Amitoze top-scored with 49, as Punjab stuttered to 122 for 8. Bumrah was the pick of the bowlers with 3 for 14, and was ably supported by Mehul's 2 for 26.
Gujarat started badly, as they lost their wicketkeeper captain Parthiv Patel with the score on 2. Asad Pathan and Niraj Patel put up a 50-run partnership, before they were both dismissed with the score on 52. Manprit Juneja and Abdulahad Malik put up a further 64 runs, as Gujarat kept abreast with the required run-rate. Ultimately Malik and Akshar Patel sealed the victory in the 18th over, and with six wickets in hand.
