8.10pm South Africa, playing with three specialist spinners for the first time since 2011 in ODIs, secured their first points in the tri-series with a resounding win. After slumping to 112 for 6, Behardien stroked a mature half-century to boost his side to 189. Parnell then set up the defence by pinning Warner lbw in his first over. Rabada got the ball to swing before the spin trio - Tahir, Phangiso and debutant Shamsi - twisted Australia into knots. Finch played a lone hand, sweeping his way to 72. Barring Finch, Lyon and No.11 Hazlewood were the only Australian batsman to reach double-figures. The umpiring blunders will perhaps be a talking point from this match. The umpires had set a high bar for lbw decisions off deliveries straightening down the line of the stumps from around the wicket in the previous game. Nonetheless, SA get the result they would have been desperate for.

Farhaan Behardien is the Man of the Match: "A dogged performance was needed today, we trained quite nicely yesterday. So tough out there, took a lot of mental energy. Mentally, you got to have thick skin. Very tough in the beginning, lucky enough to bat till the end. The message from the dressing room was to bat till the 47-48th over no matter what the situation, the run-rate was."

Steven Smith: "We didn't adapt well enough with the bat today. Behardien played a good innings, got them to 180 which was par. We got to be better, we have to play better on wickets like these. We got to keep improving throughout the tournament, a couple of tough games ahead of us.

AB de Villiers: "Very satisfying. We love winning games, I thought we had a fantastic game. 100 overs is a long time, a lot of ups and downs. We used the momentum to our advantage. We started well with the two seamers, not the kind of wicket where the seamers were having the time of their lives. I don't see a lot of batters picking Shamsi. The ball got a little wet, and I thought they are only 40 runs out. Happy to finish things off fantastically."
