short ball and he rocks back, deep in his crease, and pulls it away to the midwicket boundary to bring up Jersey's second win of the tournament
Nepal vs Jersey, 34th Match, Group A at Dublin, Jul 18 2015 - Ball by Ball Commentary
13.05pm That's it from all of us. Hope you've enjoyed our coverage. Do keep tuning in for the rest of this tournament. Until next time, ta ta!
Peter Gough: "That was a massive performance from the team, under a bit of pressure as well. 130-140 we would have been confident chasing, so we were very happy chasing 106. We wanted to keep rotating the strike and use the left-right-hand partnerships. Any game in this level is brilliant for us to play in. We're happy with the way we've been playing, we're feeling confident, and we'll come out tomorrow and give it everything, do everything we can to try and win it for Jersey."
Paras Khadka: "It's been a very bad tournament for us, nothing has worked. We have tried different combinations and none of the plans have worked. It just didn't happen for us this time. I wouldn't say it was because of conditions. We just haven't been able to adapt our game plans as much as we would have liked to. There's a lot we can learn from this tournament, and hopefully we'll come back with flying colours next time."
Nat Watkins, who picked up three wickets with his left-arm spin, is man of the match. "I was just trying to change my pace and line and length as much as I could," he says. "The odd quicker one, the odd slower one, make it as difficult for them as possible."
12.53pm And that is that for Nepal. They go back home with only one win from six games. It's been a tough tournament for them. Jersey, though, have a chance to go through to the next round if they can get something out of tomorrow's match against Ireland. Excellent performance from them today. There was a brief wobble when they lost two wickets, including that of the impressive Jenner, in one over, but Stevens and Bodenstein have steered them home quite easily in the end.
Gyanendra Malla comes on now. I think he bowls offspin. Around the wicket
middle-stump yorker, and he gets his front leg out of the way to jab it away to backward point
looks for the bouncer and he sends down another wide, down the leg side this time
Three wides and a no-ball in that over from Sompal.
another wide, slanted a looooooong way outside off
wide yorker, gets it right this time to slide under Bodenstein's bat, but he's overstepped by a fair distance
here's the bouncer, and it hurries through, and he's pulling against the angle, top-edges in the air but well short of mid-off
tries to slant it full and wide, looking for the wide yorker, maybe, and ends up bowling too wide
fuller now, on off stump, and he gets his front foot out of the way to drive cleanly to the extra cover boundary
shot! That was a touch too wide, and Bodenstein waited for it and slapped it hard to the right of the backward point fielder
Chants of 'Sompal, Sompal' from the crowd
length ball, slanted across a bit wider, and he beats the edge again as Bodenstein goes for the big slash
length ball outside off, and it beats the outside edge as the batsman pokes at it with an angled bat, without really coming forward
Here's Sompal Kami. He should have come on earlier, I think.
floated up on middle stump, there's no turn on this, and Stevens top-edges his attempted sweep, but it pops up in the air and falls safely into the unguarded backward square leg area
short outside off, punched away to sweeper cover
back of a length on middle and leg, tucked away towards long leg
short outside off, stops on the pitch, drags his pull back to the bowler
down the track, nice and easy, driven to long-off
tossed up on off stump, driven back towards the bowler
tossed up down the leg side and he can't get bat on ball as he goes for the sweep. Ball smacks the keeper in the chest and runs away towards the short fine leg area
full and flat outside off. Stevens goes for the sweep, gets an inside-edge, and heaves a sigh of relief as it rolls away past his leg stump
flat and quick outside leg stump and he tucks it off his pads to long leg
