Alleged Breech of Players Code of Conduct

The Disciplinary Committee of the BCCSL has decided that an inquiry be held into the statement submitted by Mr. Sylvester Dias, Match referee on 07th, 08th and 09th February 2003 at De Soyza Stadium, Moratuwa of the match between Sebastianites C & AC Air Force SC on the complain made against Mr. Ajith Cooray on 09th February 2003, for assaulting an umpire who officiated the match.

Mr. Cooray has been suspended from participating in any tournament conducted by the BCCSL pending conclusion of the inquiry. The suspension will be affective from 11th February 2003.

If Mr. Cooray does not attend this inquiry without a valid excuse, the inquiry will be held exparte.

The inquiry has been fixed for Wednesday 19th February 2003 at 5.00 pm at the BCCSL headquarters.

M/s Sylvester Dias- Match referee, Rohana De Silva and Nalin Vithana - the two umpires will be present for the inquiry.
