Axar, Maxwell's spin in tandem scythes through Daredevils
Axar Patel and Glenn Maxwell built on a strong start to run through Delhi Daredevils' middle order in economical spells of spin bowling

Kings XI Punjab, having won just three in eight games, were desperate for a victory to push themselves up the points table. Sandeep Sharma had picked up three wickets in the Powerplay to reduce Delhi Daredevils to 22 for 3.
Then, on a slow pitch, Kings XI used spin in tandem. Glenn Maxwell and Axar Patel bowled tidy lines, attacked the stumps and prised out three wickets in between them. Maxwell had Rishabh Pant lbw with a non-turning offbreak, and Axar removed Karun Nair and Chris Morris.
Both bowlers operated without a break, finishing with combined returns of 8-0-36-3. By the time the spinners were done, Daredevils were tottering at 59 for 6 after 14 overs, paving the way for a crucial win for Kings XI, propelling them to fifth on the points table.
