Grant Trafford Luden has been appointed as the Bangladesh national team's strength and conditioning coach.
Luden, a South African, has "extensive experience as a cricket coach, trainer and fitness advisor", according to a release from the Bangladesh board. He had been head coach and manager at the Tshwane University of Technology in South Africa.
Luden has a degree in sport and exercise technology and completed a national diploma in sport and exercise technology from Technikon Pretoria. Luden also worked as a fitness trainer of the Karnataka Cricket Academy in 2005, and has been a coach and fitness specialist for 17 years.
Luden will join a Bangladesh side coached by Australian Jamie Siddons. Bangladesh have performed poorly in recent months, with their last victory against a major opposition team coming against West Indies in the World Twenty20 in September last year. Excluding a 3-0 result in the home ODI series against Ireland, Bangladesh's last ODI win came against South Africa more than a year ago, during the World Cup in the West Indies.
