Canadian Farewell to Lord Cowdrey

Canadian Cricket joins true fans worldwide in paying tribute to a great hero, a great player and a consummate team-first and country-first sportsman.

We extend our condolences to his family and to his friends on this sad occasion-a sad end to a glorious career and life dedicated to cricket.

Lord Cowdrey's exploits are too numerous to chronicle here. There is no doubt that his "professionalism", courage and commitment even in extreme adversity are unmatched today.

His excellence with bat or in the field (usually at 1st slip) and his track record for success are "monuments" to his talent and devotion which can hopefully allow today's young players a top class model and example (we do not advocate playing with a broken arm in a cast, however).

Thanks for the memories, Lord Cowdrey.
