Chandana charged with misconduct by BCCSL

The report submitted by the Disciplinary Committee of the BCCSL, on the conclusion of the inquiry into the allegation of misconduct of Mr. Upul Chandan on 12th January 2003 at a tournament cricket match between Tamil Union C & AC & CCC, was ratified by the Interim Committee.

The report stated that Mr. Upul Chandana be suspended from participating in tournament cricket conducted by the BCCSL for a period of one year. However, since this is the first occasion Mr. Upul Chandana has been charged with misconduct in his cricketing career of over 12 years, the above punishment be suspended for a period of one year.

Upul Chandana's suspension will thus come into effect in the event he is found guilty of any misconduct within a period of one year from.
