While Dalmiya and Gautam Dasgupta, former Board joint secretary, both declined to air their personal reactions on Dungarpur's outburst against Ganguly yesterday, Saradindu Paul,CAB joint secretary, said "this is unfortunate for Sourav to get such a verbal attack from a man of the stature of Dungarpur". He, however, asserted that it would not affect the morale of the left hander, who left for Delhi on way to Lahore early this morning. To a query, Paul said "there is no need to think that such remarks will mount pressure on Sourav, because he always come out triumphant from any pressure situation".
Arun Lal, former Test opener and secretary of Indian Professional Cricketers Association, refused to comment on the matter. Dungarpur, the manager of the touring Indian team in Pakistan, had launched an extra-ordinary attack on Ganguly, describing him as the "laziest and possibly worst fielder" of the side. He had also claimed that former coach John Wright was frustated with the ways of Ganguly but could not get the Kolkatan removed as captain.
