There were draws across the board on the final day of the latest round of county matches, although some were more exciting than others. Sussex clung on against Northants, despite being sent spiralling to 69 for 7 in their second innings, while Derbyshire's final pair of Mohammad Ali and Nicholas Walker beat back the best efforts of Dmitri Mascarenhas, who finished with 6 for 25. At the other end of the scale, Lancashire and Middlesex drifted to a stalemate, while there was no play for the third day running at Canterbury.
