Dominica hosts ICC CWC 2007 stakeholders road show tomorrow

ICC Cricket World Cup 2007 Managing Director & CEO Chris Dehring and Commercial Manager Stephen Price will present the Stakeholders Road Show in Dominica tomorrow morning

ICC Cricket World Cup 2007 Managing Director & CEO Chris Dehring and Commercial Manager Stephen Price will present the Stakeholders Road Show in Dominica tomorrow morning.
More than 40 public and private-sector officials will gather at Fort Young Hotel in Roseau at 8.30 a.m. for the programme which will include a chronological history of the Caribbean's successful bid to host the Event, a progress update on stadium developments, an outline of the brand identity and an in-depth explanation of the contractual relationships between the International Cricket Council (ICC) and Global Cricket Corporation (GCC) and ICC and ICC CWC 2007 Inc.
In addition, Price will detail the various commercial opportunities available to regional and international businesses and entrepreneurs and discuss the related Anti-Infringement Programme (AIP) and Sunset Legislation. Participants will then be allowed to ask questions.
Following the roll-out of the Stakeholders Road Show across the nine Host Venues which began last October, Dehring was specially invited by Dominica's Minister of Tourism Yvor Nassief to share plans for next year's Event with that island, though no ICC CWC 2007 matches will be played there. However, inclement weather and flight difficulties forced a postponement of the Dominica Road Show originally slated for last October 22.
General Manager of the National Development Corporation (NDC) of Dominica, Vincent Philbert, who has been instrumental in arranging the visit by the ICC CWC 2007 officials, says his compatriots have been eagerly anticipating the Road Show and are looking forward to tomorrow's presentation.
"Representatives from Dominica attended the Road Show in Antigua last year and their interest was so heightened that they expressed the desire to have the Road Show presented to the wider Dominican community.
"It had to be rescheduled but we are pleased that this has now afforded ICC CWC 2007 Commercial Manager Stephen Price the opportunity to accompany Mr. Dehring on this trip. We are happy to welcome them both," explained Philbert, adding that several special events are being organised in his homeland to coincide with ICC Cricket World Cup 2007.
Lauding Dominica's initiative in requesting the Stakeholders Road Show come to its shores, Dehring reiterated the importance of such a venture in ensuring all regional countries - whether hosting ICC CWC 2007 fixtures or not - have a part of the historic, 16-team tournament.
"We at ICC Cricket World Cup 2007 have been stressing that this Event is about the entire Caribbean and not just the Host Venue nations. Dominica and its unique beauty have a lot to offer and we want Dominicans to be fully updated on what's happening and to appreciate their role in this signature undertaking," said the ICC CWC 2007 Managing Director.
In the afternoon, Dehring and Price will tour the Botanical Gardens and the island's main cricket venue, Windsor Park Stadium, which is under construction. They will leave Dominica on Friday morning.
