Dungarpur admits to no Asia Cup in 2006

Raj Singh Dungarpur, former Board for Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) president, has stated that the Asia Cup will not be held in 2006.
"I had a discussion with ICC president Ehsan Mani and Pakistan Cricket Board chief Shaharyar Khan the other day ... From what emerged, it's just not possible for the tournament to be held next year," Dungarpur told The Telegraph in Kolkata yesterday.
The Asia Cup, postponed earlier this month, was supposed to have been held in Pakistan between February and March of next year. Speaking on behalf of Sharad Pawar, Asian Cricket Council and current BCCI president, in a meeting in Lahore, Dungarpur denied that this was an option.
