The 6 participating Teams – Holland, India, Ireland, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and UAE have been placed in two groups:
Group - “A”: Holland, India and Pakistan
Group - “B”: Ireland, Sri Lanka and UAE
The teams in their respective groups will play league matches. After the first leg of the league is over, the teams would be regrouped. The following methodology would be followed:
The team heading the group “A” will head group C and the Teams finishing 2 nd and 3 rd in group” B” will be other 2 teams of the group C
Similarly the team heading the group “B” will head the group D and the Teams finishing 2 nd and 3 rd in group “A” will be other 2 teams of group D
The teams in their respective groups ( C and D ) will play league matches
The teams will carry the points earned during the first leg of the league, in the second leg of the league.
The teams would be placed according to the total points earned during the competition.
The two teams, finishing at the top of the table would play the final on 5 th May 2006.
Points System:
The points system shall be as follows:
Win, with bonus point 6Win, without bonus point 5
Tie or No Result 3
Loss, but not conceding bonus point 1
Loss, conceding bonus point 0
In the event of teams finishing on equal points, the right to play in the Final Match will be determined as follows:
- The team with the most number of wins
- If still equal, the team with the most number of wins over the other team(s) who are equal on points and have the same number of wins
- If still equal, the team with the highest number of bonus points
- If still equal, the team with the highest net run rate
In a match declared as no result, run rate is not applicable.
