Steven Finn has been rewarded for his Man-of-the-Match performance in the first Test at Lord's with an incremental England contract.
Finn, 21, took nine wickets in the victory at Lord's and receives a contract after making his Test debut in Bangladesh in March, before starting the home series against the same opposition in good form. Contracts are awarded automatically on a points-based system, with each Test earning a player five points. Finn, now in his fourth Test, has the required 20 points in a 12-month period to qualify.
Andy Flower, the England coach, will now be able to manage Finn's workload directly and withdraw him from county games for Middlesex as and when the England management see fit.
