Gloucestershire Cricket Board XI produced a very good result with a high quality performance as a team, twinned with excellent individual performances. Overall it was a very encouraging performance.
The bowling partnerships at the beginning of the Huntingdonshire innings where impressive, firstly between White and Chad, and then backed up by the spinners of Priscott and Rendell.
The fielding backed up the bowling brilliantly on a very difficult outfield.
Chasing 180 on a very tired wicket looked a difficult prospect, and at 34 for 3 in 10 overs the target looked a long way off. However, a stand of 112 in the next 20 overs, a partnership of genuine class from the Stovold brothers, made the target look well short. The 180 was reached in 42 overs with the only blip being the loss of both Stovold brothers in the 140s.
The second round is to be played against Yorkshire Board on Thursday 13th September at the County Ground, Bristol.
