After Bangladesh's disastrous start to their Test adventure, the ICC are offering them a helping hand by vowing to reverse their fortunes.
Andrew Eade, ICC's Global Development Manager, said they would help whittle down lists for a chief executive officer of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) along with a high-profile coach for the under-19 team. "I honestly tried to point out specific areas where the ICC could render support to make Bangladesh more competitive as quickly as possible," said Eade. "We also want to help build a national training centre with modern facilities and to restart specialised training programmes and to lobby the Asian Cricket Council to fund development activities in Bangladesh."
Bangladesh have lost 18 of 19 Tests since their elevation to Test status in 2000, and also haven't won a one-day international for four years. And while Eade says the ICC wants to bring better results in no time at all, Dav Whatmore, the new Bangladesh coach, warned not to expect any miracles, although he's confident he can turn things around.
