Lahore, Nov 12: Four of the touring England cricketers, including
skipper Nasser Hussain, face injury scares which might rule them out
of the first Test against Pakistan starting at the Gaddafi Stadium
from Wednesday.
Andrew Walpole, England team's media officer, told Dawn that Hussain
is struggling with a back problem which he has had for quite sometime.
"He is uncomfortable with the back for the last four to five days,"
Walpole said.
Others on the sick list are pacemen Craig White (hamstring injury),
Dominic Cork (back problem) and batsman Michael Vaughan (calf injury).
"Michael (Vaughan) is 70-30 against playing on Wednesday," Walpole
said.
He, however, added all the four will attend a training session on
Monday morning during which their fitness will be assessed by
physiotherapist Dean Conway.
"Dean will hold a press conference on Monday evening in which he will
confirm which of the players were not available," Walpole concluded.
