IT solutions company backs Gauteng

The Gauteng Cricket Board have secured a three-year sponsorship deal with IT solutions company Iocore, it was announced on Monday.

The deal will be worth "just under R1-million a year", according to Iocore marketing and commercial director Tony Hunter, and will run concurrently with the GCB's existing sponsorship by Johannesburg radio station Highveld Stereo 94.7 FM. This sponsorship has still a further two years to run.

The Gauteng provincial team will continue to be known as the Highveld Strikers and a priority for the province will be to turn around last season's disastrous campaign which saw the side finish bottom of the SuperSport Series.
