Kent defeated but go top
Kent go top despite losing to Sussex
Kent lost their remaining four wickets for just 17 runs this morning, to be bowled out by Sussex for just 119 - losing the match by 66 runs. The Pakistanis Naved-ul-Hasan and Mushtaq Ahmed both took two wickets, and four each for the innings - Naved ending with impressive match figures of seven for 74 from 31.3 overs on his Championship debut. On what was a blameless pitch, Kent's batting imploded yesterday, ending the day on 97 for 6 - Matthew Walker top scoring with 32 - and their tail could not prevent Sussex from claiming their second win of the season. Despite losing, Kent are now the Division One leaders, ahead of Nottinghamshire who have a game in hand.
