Star batsman, Brian Lara, is uncertain for the West Indies tour of Sri Lanka
in November because of the persistent hamstring injury that forced him to
pull out of this year's tour of Zimbabwe and Kenya.
Left-hander Wavell Hinds has been included in the pre-tour camp in Jamacia
as cover.
Selector Michael Findlay, said: "He (Lara) is genuinely worried this may be
something more serious than a muscle injury."
Lara was scheduled to have a further scan to assess the injury on Wednesday.
The results of that scan have so far not been released.
Lara has only just returned from the United States where he received lazor
treatment for a long-standing eye problem.
The squad are currently participating in a one week training camp in
Jamacia, in which batting legend Gordon Greenidge and Antiguan fast bowler
Andy Roberts are assisting national coach Roger Harper with preparations for
Sri Lanka.
Carl Hooper leads the West Indies on the tour that begins 4 November.
The West Indian team is due to play three Tests and take part in a
triangular series of one-day internationals that also involve Zimbabwe.
