The South African national cricket squad finished a 3 day training camp in Durban yesterday (Sunday) and leave for England on
Friday night. The 1st match of the English tour starts on the
23rd of June. The team will be sporting the new King Protea emblem on their kit in place of the United Cricket Board badge
which they had been wearing for the past 2 years. (thanks Frank)
Danny Morrison's hamstring failed to respond to treatment. He
will take no further part in the NZ to Eng tour, and will be returning home. No word on a replacement. (BBC)
Eng named Northants' Paul Taylor in place of the injured Mark
Ilott for Test 2 v NZ starting Thu, 16 Jun at Lord's. Chairman
of Selectors, Ray Illingworth, has hinted that two spinners may
be played which would mean a Test debut for Yorks'
