Surrey are set to unveil plans which will double the capacity of
the Oval from its existing 16,500. The project will involve the
demolition of the stand at the Vauxhall End a new area of
uncovered seating for 17,000 people. The May and Surridge
enclosures which flank the ground are also set to be extended.
Surrey hope the building work will be completed in time for the
start of the 1999 season.
