There was "no mystery" about New Zealand Cricket making two of its
administrative staff redundant, said chief executive Chris Doig
yesterday.
"We had two PAs who, with the greater computer literacy of the senior
staff, were unemployed," he said.
"One of them was in the marketing department and, with the new
marketing manager coming in as a former journalist, fully computer
literate and doing all his own typing, that secretarial position was
made redundant.
"It was much the same in the other position. We weren't able to keep
them active so we offered them redundancy and they both accepted."
The NZC administrative staff now numbers 23 people.
