Osinde stars in Canada's rare win

Quick bowler Henry Osinde was Canada's hero in the afternoon, as he ripped through the top order to leave Kenya gasping at 57 for 5 after 15 overs. It was a slow pitch at Feroz Shah Kotla though it wasn't as tough a track to bat on as the Kenyans made it seem early on. Osinde was getting the ball to swerve a touch at the start, and that provided him a wicket off the second delivery of the match, when Maurice Ouma was drawn towards the ball and edged it to slip as he belatedly tried to leave.

Then followed a period of strangulation, with Osinde only give away three singles in his first three overs. That third over also brought in the wicket of promising opener Seren Waters, who played down the wrong line to be bowled for 2. Osinde's figures at this stage were 3-2-3-2. It got even better for Osinde in his next over as he got rid of David Obuya, who he had kept guessing in a lovely spell. Once he beat the outside edge in the over, then he had him playing and missing another before finally snapping him up on the final delivery, a thin edge flying to the keeper.

He finished his extended first spell with impeccable figures of 7-2-16-3. He came back after the mandatory ball change and again kept things tight. He bagged a wicket on his final delivery, a yorker crashing into the stumps to finish with 4 for 26, equaling the fourth-best bowling performance by a Canadian in one-dayers.
