Pakistan: Twenty called for cricket camp

LAHORE, Feb 26: Twenty players have been called to join the National
cricket camp which gets under way on Feb 28 at the Gaddafi Stadium.
Pakistan squad for playing against Sri Lanka in the Asian Test
Championship will be selected from the 20 players invited to the
camp, says a press release of the Pakistan Cricket Board issued
today.
Pakistan and Sri Lanka play the Asian Test at the Gaddafi Stadium on
March 4. Three players out of 16 who toured India with the Pakistan
teamhave been dropped Thirteen others have beenretained.The dropped
players are:
Paceman Waqar Younis, right-arm leg-spinner Mushtaq Ahmad, opener
Muhammad Naveed Qureshi.
Mushtaq Ahmad returned to Pakistan midway during the tour due to
injury. In his place, off-spinner Arshad Khan was sent to Calcutta as
a re-enforcement but not played in opener of the Asian Test
Championship against India which Pakistan won.
Also recalled in the national camp are middle-order Test batsman
Muhammad Wasim, pacemen Muhammad Akram and Shahid Nazir and Fazle
Akbar.
Two newcomers in the camp will be young opener Imran Nazir and tall
paceman Shabbir Ahmad and Naseem Khan from Quetta.

Wasim Akram (captain),Saeed Anwar, Shahid Afridi, Wajahtullah Wasti,
Ijaz Ahmad, Inzimam-ul-Haq, Saleem Malik, Yousaf Youhana, Muhammad
Waseem, Azhar Mahmood, Moin Khan, Shoaib Akhtar, Shahid Nazir,
Saqlain Mushtaq, Arshad Khan, Naseem Khan (Quetta), Imran Nazir
,Muhammad Akram, Shabbir Ahmad, Fazle Akbar.
