The ECB Premier League Assessment Panel has accredited the Liverpool
and District Cricket competition as Lancashire's Premier League from
the season 2000.
This will be the first Premier League in Lancashire.
John Brewer the Chairman of the LCB said today: "This is a great day
for Lancashire Cricket.
"My thanks go to all those who have put in so much hard work and
particularly Jim Kenyon and his team. The Liverpool Competition have
raised the Premier flag and the Board hope that their example will
soon be followed elsewhere."
As a result of the accreditation, the Liverpool Competition will
receive financial support from the ECB to the extent of £1,000 for
the 12 clubs in the Premier Division together with £1,000 for
administration costs in the year 2000 and a further £1,000 as support
for the work which is being done now to create the League.
