Sussex have agreed by mutual consent to release wicketkeeper Shaun Humphries - it is only three days since wicketkeeper, Andy Patterson, left the county. 27 year-old Humphries, whose contract had still four months to run, has failed to win regular selection to the first team this summer due to an inadequate batting performance.
Sussex coach Peter Moores said: "It's no reflection on Shaun's ability as a
keeper but we need runs from our wicketkeeper because of the make-up of our
squad."
Nick Wilton has the rest of the season in which to make the wicket-keeping position his own.
