China's big cricket event, the Shanghai Sixes, has received a boost with the entries of the Melbourne Cricket Club and a South African representative team for the two-day event, which will be held on April 17 and 18. They will join composite teams from Japan and Korea, Hong Kong Dragons, a Chinese "national team" from Beijing, Shenzen Sports & Athletic Club and Shanghai Cavaliers.
The Beijing domestic competition features teams drawn from the respective nationalities of the expatriate community as well as a Chinese team.
A college team from Wuhan, supported by Australian university students, also plays occasional matches.
