The Ceylon Tourist Board and AirLanka will join hands in promoting Sri Lanka`s image when the World Cup cricket competition
is staged here in February next year. Ranjith Perera, the Additional Director General of the Ceylon Tourist Board said that
when the Cricket Board invited them to be a part of the unique
event, they gladly accepted it. Oshadie Leelananda who
represents AirLanka said that the national carrier would extend
its fullest cooperation at all times.
CRICKET BOARD PRESIDENT LEAVES FOR AUSTRALIA
The Cricket Board President, Ana Punchihewa, will leave for
Australia on Tuesday to lead `Sri Lanka Cricket Fund 2000` fund
raising campaign in Australia. The fund has been launched to find
the finances to support Sri Lanka`s aim to become the best
Test-playing nation by the year 2000. The project will be held in
Perth,Melbourne, Sydney and Adelaide. Sri Lanka had similar projects in Sharjah and New Zealand early this year.
