State Northern Knights name State Championship squad

The State Northern Knights selectors have named their squad for the opening rounds of the State Championship starting on Monday 26th November with a four-day match against the State Otago Volts in Dunedin. The team is:

Robbie Hart (captain - Bay of Plenty)
Scott Styris (vice-captain - Thames Valley)
Graeme Aldridge (Bay of Plenty)
Mark Bailey (Hamilton)
Grant Bradburn (Thames Valley)
Ian Butler (Counties Manukau)
Simon Doull (Hamilton)
Matthew Hart (Bay of Plenty)
James Marshall (Northland)
Hamish Marshall (Northland)
Bruce Martin (Hamilton)
Joseph Yovich (Northland)

Simon Andrews, Jaden Hatwell and Grant Robinson have also been selected in the extended squad. Counties Manukau speedster Ian Butler is the new face in a fully home grown, vastly experienced squad. New State Northern Knights coach Bruce Blair is upbeat about the team's prospects for the coming season.

"The squad has been diligent in preparing for this season and we are all extremely enthusiastic about the task that lies ahead," he remarked.
